The FCT Police Command says traffic diversions will be implemented across the city as Nigeria celebrates her 64th independence anniversary.
Nigeria will mark its independence on Tuesday, October 1st.
Incidentally, October 1st has been scheduled as the day for the #FearlessInOctober protests.
It is a continuation of the #Endbadgovernance protest, which was held across some states across the country, including the FCT from August 1 to 10.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.
According to the statement, the command in anticipation of the independence anniversary, has "strategically deployed adequate personnel and equipment throughout the FCT."
It noted that the deployments aim to ensure that residents of the FCT enjoy a hitch-free Independence Day celebration.
The statement also listed the deployment to include Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) personnel, anti-riot equipment, and visibility policing, among others.
"Traffic diversions will be implemented in areas expected to experience large crowds, including Central Area and Eagle Square," the statement added.
The command called on residents of the FCT to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the FCT Police.
