Omah Lay, the Nigerian music sensation, has announced an exciting collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The 27-year-old singer expressed excitement over the new single in a chat with Ferrari Simmons and Byron Turner on The Baller Alert Show.
Lay, who previously thought Davido disliked him, described the 'Assurance' hitmaker as an "amazing person". He also expressed surprise at how seamlessly they worked together.
The singer said he initially had modest expectations, but Davido's warm demeanor changed his mind.
"From Nigeria, Davido right now. Davido has been... Yeah actually, we have a song already that's coming out," he said.
"I didn't want to say that but I'm very excited about the record because it was something I didn't imagine would be great but the way we got along... Davido is such an amazing person too, you know. The way we got along, and the way we made this record happen, yeah I'm so excited."
The singer, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didi, also offered insights into relationships among Nigerian artistes, dispelling the notion that they're all close friends.
"As much as there's love, it's still like a lot of competition, and I feel like that's that's what makes an industry thrive," he said.
"When there's too much love and everybody is just eating from one plate, it's like everybody's relaxed. But, there's a lot of competition, and that's what keeps us up.
"But it's not like fighting, like gun and killing each other and stuff. [It's like] I just wanna make better music, I wanna be the best and stuff like that. It's just very healthy competition.
Omah Lay started his music career at the age of 15.
Having been a music producer, he rose to the limelight in 2020 following the release of his two hit singles 'You' and 'Bad Influence'.
The singer has continued to make a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry with his unique music style.
