Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has urged his teammate Rodrygo not to be upset after he was snubbed from the 30-man 2024 Ballon d'Or shortlist.
Real Madrid has seven players on the shortlist but Rodrygo has surprisingly been overlooked despite enjoying an excellent last season with Real Madrid.
The Brazil international previously admitted that he was upset for not making the 30-man shortlist.
Speaking on the development, Courtois insisted that the 23-year-old is a key player for Madrid.
He said, as quoted by Madrid Xtra: "Journalists put Jude's, Vini's, and Mbappé's letters. But in the dressing room, we know Rodrygo's importance and quality.
"I don't think Rodrygo needs to be upset, but if he plays better when he's upset, then go ahead and be upset (laughs)."
