Operatives of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) intercepted a vehicle carrying a large cache of ammunition in Batsari Local Government Area, Katsina State.

Dr. Nasir Mu'azu, the State's  Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement disclosed that the incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 7:30 PM in Batsari town.

He said, acting on intelligence, members of the Community Watch Corps stopped a commercial vehicle with plate number BTR 45 XA. Upon inspection, they discovered a stash of ammunition hidden under a seat, which included 610 rounds of ammunition for AK-47 and General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) rifles, as well as two magazines.

A suspicious man, described as wearing white voile clothes, was identified as the individual responsible for concealing the ammunition. However, he managed to evade capture during the operation.

Governor Dikko Radda reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting and enhancing the capabilities of security agencies to combat all forms of criminality in the state.
