Barcelona sporting director, Deco, has explained why the club decided not to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao this summer.
Williams was one of the highly coveted forwards in the market and drew interest from Arsenal and Manchester United too.
However, the Spain international was believed to have a preference for staying in LaLiga and was tipped to join Barca.
But William will stay at San Mames for at least one more season.
Deco has now claimed that they decided not to sign Williams, because they have six players in their current squad that are good options.
He said:
"We didn't sign Nico Williams as we have Raphinha, Ferran, Ansu, Lamine plus Fermin and Olmo to help there.
"Dani Olmo gives us more options rather than signing one more winger."
