AFCONQ 2025: We go again next month - Super Eagles after failing to beat Rwanda

Super Eagles has reacted to their goalless draw with Rwanda in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier on Tuesday.

Nigeria and Rwanda played out a 0-0 draw in their AFCON qualifying matchday two encounter in Kigali.

The Amavubi dominated the opening minutes of the encounter.

The Super Eagles, however, took control of the game with Ademola Lookman causing problem for the hosts defence.

Lookman was put through on goal in the 20th minute by midfielder Wilfred Ndidi but his shot was saved by Rwanda goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre.

The Atalanta forward put the ball inside the net three minutes later but the goal was controversially chalked off by the centre referee.

His team-mate Victor Boniface hit the woodwork nine minutes before the break after he was set up by Lookman.

The match ultimately ended goalless despite Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen making some changes in the second half.

The result means Nigeria remain top of Group D with four points after two matches.

Reacting, the Super Eagles, in a post on X after the game also thanked fans for supporting the team as they look forward to their next matches in October.

"FT in Kigali Rwanda 0-0 Nigeria
4 points from two and we go again next month," Super Eagles tweeted.
