Super Eagles' Samuel Chukwueze has reacted to Ademola Lookman's failed move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in the summer.
AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has weighed in on Ademola Lookman's reported move to Ligue 1 from Europa League champions Atalanta BC.
Nigeria's Lookman delivered an impressive season that saw him emerge as the hero for Atalanta as they became the first Italian side to lift UEFA's second tier competition.
The 26-year-old became the first player to ever score three goals in a major UEFA competition final after he inspired Atalanta to a comfortable 3-0 win against hitherto unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
Following that stellar show from the former Everton and Fulham man, who was named Atalanta's Player of the Season, the Super Eagles forward became one of the most wanted players in the summer.
He was quickly linked with a big move to Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint-Germain, who reportedly approached his Italian club to make enquiries during the Super Cup defeat to Champions League winners Real Madrid.
However, despite reportedly reaching an agreement with the French giants over personal terms, the move fell through as the versatile forward remained in Italy after PSG and Atalanta failed to agree to a fee.
Chukwueze advises Lookman
With the window now closed, attention has quickly switched to the international matches, with Lookman, who was sidelined by the club following the links to PSG and Arsenal, in Uyo with the Super Eagles.
On arrival to join his teammates in the Super Eagles, Chukwueze joined in on the conversation, with the Milan-based winger advising the latest Ballon d'Or nominee to make the move to Saudi Arabia.
"He's my brother, I just want to tell him," Chukwueze screamed jokingly as he checked into the Super Eagles camp in a video on TikTok.
"Lookman, Lookman, join Saudi Arabia, join captain," he added, emphasising that his teammate should make the move to join the captain of the team, William Troost-Ekong, who recently swapped Europe for Saudi Pro League.
As Chukwueze looks to convince his national teammates Lookman on where to make his next career move, the Super Eagles are in Uyo for a decisive AFCON 2025 qualifier.
Nigeria hosts the Benin Republic this Saturday before taking on Rwanda days later and the players will be looking to kick off this campaign on a good note.
