The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan has decorated newly promoted officers with their new ranks in Zamfara State.

This followed the promotion of 160 personnel serving under Zamfara State Police Command were recently promoted by the Nigerian Police Force.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan while addressing the newly decorated officers on Friday at the state police command headquarters, said the promotion is part of the ongoing efforts to boost the morale and motivation of officers on the frontlines in the fight against insecurity in the region.

He noted that the promotion is not just a reward for past efforts but also a call to greater service in the face of ongoing security threats.

"You have to thank God for the elevation, this promotion is to change the way you do your things, the way you think, the way you plan and operate are all to change to reflect your new rank, to whom much is given, much is expected."

"We are going to give you new roles to play which will reflect your new rank, you have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations, we expect better performance and better crime-fighting strategies must be adopted in order for us to know that yes, you are wearing new ranks."

CP Dalijan urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts in tackling the menace of banditry, stressing that their new ranks come with increased responsibilities.

Also, 84 Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP I), while 76 Inspectors were elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
