South African Premier Soccer League club, Chippa United on Thursday announced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a contract extension.
Nwabali, according to the Chilli Boys, put pen to paper on a three-year contract.
Chippa United also announced that the shot-stopper will be their new captain.
"We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC," reads a statement on the club's official website.
"We are incredibly proud of Stanley's dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this being said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season. "
The goaltender joined Chippa United from Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United in 2022.
The 28-year-old quickly established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper.
Nwabali caught the eye with his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.
