A University of Calabar law student, Obinna Joseph Okwesili, has dedicated his final year project to slain crossdresser, Chantelle, popularly known as Abuja Area Mama.

The deceased, real name, Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, 33, was brutally murdered in Abuja.

His body was found on the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on August 8, 2024.

Okwesili, in a post on Wednesday, August 28, announced that he dedicated his project research, which examines a decade of the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act in Nigeria, to the deceased.

"Finished my final year project today and thought it is most meritorious to be dedicated to Abuja Area Mama whose life, though different, was fullest in its living. Rest well, Ifeanyi Benedict (Chantelle)" he wrote.
