Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has revealed that he is open to a transfer to Saudi Arabia in the near future. The 32-year-old Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Saudi Arabian clubs reportedly keen on signing him.
In an interview with the Times, Alisson admitted that he had the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia this summer but chose to continue playing in the Premier League. However, he expressed his attraction to the idea of playing in the Middle East, citing the lucrative offers made to other players.
Alisson stated, "I never got to the point where I was talking about wages and things like this. It was just interest, but when you hear about the numbers the other players are getting, you are a little bit attracted. That is normal."
BBC SPORTS reports on Sunday that the goalkeeper emphasized his commitment to honoring his contract with Liverpool but left the door open for a potential move to Saudi Arabia in the future. "I think I am open to that personally, but not now. Now is not the time."
This revelation comes as Liverpool is already planning for Alisson's replacement, with 23-year-old Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili reportedly chosen as his successor. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, another key Liverpool player, has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
As the transfer window draws to a close, it remains to be seen whether Alisson will make a move to Saudi Arabia or stay with Liverpool. One thing is certain, however - the allure of the Middle East's lucrative offers is becoming increasingly difficult for top players to resist.
