Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has spoken out after receiving a one-match ban and a €25,000 fine.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward was found guilty of using a middle finger gesture against VfB Stuttgart in their Super Cup clash.
Stuttgart reported the gesture after the match, which led to an investigation from the DFB Control Committee.
The Super Eagles player was then issued a one-match ban and also fined 25,000 euros for his actions.
Boniface response
For the next three months, Boniface has warned friends and followers on his social media account not to bill him.
Boniface shared on his official Snapchat account, as reported by Soccernet, "If you bill me for the next three months, I fit block you. Let's all be guided."
The action that sparked the controversy involved Boniface allegedly giving the Stuttgart players the middle finger in an offensive manner during post-game festivities.
The Stuttgart players said that Boniface made the gesture, although referee Tobias Stieler did not see it.
The German Football Association (DFB) launched an investigation based on these accusations and fined the forward almost 44 million naira.
Boniface and Leverkusen have complied with the DFB's decision, which is final and enforceable by law and carries a fine in addition to a suspension.
