Alvaro Morata has opened up on divorcing 'the most important woman in my life'. Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has opened up about his recent divorce from his wife and mother of his four children, Alice Campello. The 31-year-old forward revealed that the decision to move to AC Milan from Atletico Madrid this summer played a crucial role in the breakdown of their marriage.
Morata denies infidelity rumours
Amid widespread speculation in the media, Morata has categorically denied any infidelity, calling the reports false and maintaining that Alice Campello remains very important to him despite their recent split, stating, "It [rumours of infidelity] is false. I was never unfaithful to her, she is the most important woman in my life."
Morata and Campello have four children together, after first meeting during the Spanish national team captain's initial spell in Italy with Juventus, and they were married in 2017.
A few days after winning the 2024 Euros with Spain, Morata decided to move back to Italy in a €13 million move to AC Milan, which apparently rocked the foundation of his marriage to Campello, who is incidentally Italian.
Morata reveals reasons for painful divorce
The Spanish striker explained that the decision to end his marriage to Campello was mutual, and driven by the strain of yet another relocation.
Speaking to TVE reporters, Morata said, "I am very clear, the relationship is over. We have a great relationship for the well-being of our four children, although there is no turning back. We were both clear that we preferred to end the relationship and start from there. Alice wanted to stay in Spain and didn't want another move."
Despite his ex-wife's reservations about a move to Milan, Morata has settled in well with his new side, scoring in the Rossoneri's first game of the 204/25 Serie A season in a 2-2 draw with Torino.
Ex-Chelsea star has announced that he has ended his marriage with his wife Alice Campello in a shocking statement.
Former PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has heaped praise on this ex-Chelsea striker ahead of the new season.
According to reports, Spain captain Álvaro Morata and player of the tournament Rodri are currently in trouble with UEFA.
The Spanish striker will be hoping to replicate the achievements of AC Milan hero Andriy Shevchenko
