Hunger Protest: We Are Promising Nigerian Government and President Tinubu That We're Coming Back-TIB

The Take It Back Movement (TIB), a key organizer of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, has vowed to take to the streets again if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fails to address their pressing concerns. The group made this declaration on Saturday as their ongoing hunger protest reached its 10th day, signaling their growing frustration with the government's inaction.

In a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Abiodun Sanusi, a leading figure in the Take It Back Movement, expressed deep disappointment with the President's apparent disregard for the protesters' demands. According to Sanusi, it has become increasingly evident that President Tinubu is unwilling to respond to the issues raised by the Nigerian populace.

Sanusi stated, "Today is August 10, 2024. We previously declared 10 Days of Rage to demand an end to bad governance in Nigeria. However, it is now clear to everyone that President Bola Tinubu is not ready to listen to the demands of Nigerians, nor does he intend to meet these demands."

He continued, "Today marks the conclusion of our 10 Days of Rage. Despite leaving the streets for now, we are issuing a warning to the Nigerian government and President Tinubu that we will return with even greater numbers until our demands are met. We will mobilize a 10-million people march across the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT."

The initial wave of protests began on August 1, when Nigerians, under the banner of various groups, took to the streets to highlight the growing hunger and economic hardship in the country. The protesters criticized the economic policies of President Tinubu's administration, arguing that they have failed to benefit the masses and have instead exacerbated the struggles of ordinary Nigerians. As the movement gains momentum, it remains to be seen whether the government will heed their call for change.
