EPL: Why I left Sancho out of Man Utd vs Fulham game - Ten Hag

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has explained why he left Jadon Sancho out of his squad to face Fulham in the Premier League opener on Friday.

Speaking after the 1-0 win at Old Trafford, Ten Hag claimed the forward has a ear infection.

Sancho was left out of the squad completely, reminiscent of when he was dropped for the match with Arsenal last season, leading to a public row with Ten Hag, which led to him being exiled from the team.

But the Dutchman had different reasons for Sancho's absence this time around.

"First of all we need squad depth, There will be a long season and it will be survival of the fittest but I can only put 20 players in the squad and Jadon in the week had an ear infection. He was not 100 percent fit," Ten Hag said.
