The man, who's a bus driver, had given an insight into his daily life as a commercial driver struggling to survive and raise a family.

Asherkine had offered to give the man his request: a bag of rice and a new TV which were taken to the man's home.

On getting to his home, Asherkine met his wife and four kids and right on the spot offered to pay the man's children's school fees, and also gave the man 50,000 naira.

It was later discovered that the man's wife was posing as a single mother online and soliciting funds.

When dragged by netizens on this, she doubled down, condemning her marriage with the man and insisting that only her kids are what matters to her.

However, some netizens who took pity on the embattled man have began crowdfunding to raise money for him.

An X influencer, @john_d_doe wrote ...

"Dear kindhearted people,

Please here is the account of Mr. Anozie @AnozieOlusegun.

God bless you 🙏."

Kindhearted netizens have been seen sending money in large and small amounts to the man which is steadily raising the figures to millions.
