Football is back! The excitement is real and beyond limit, as football fans world over wait in great expectation for the season to begin. However, the biggest question in the mind of many is: "who wins the top five leagues in Europe?".
The battle for the major leagues in Europe is usually very fiercely contested and this year promises another interesting spectacle. The Super cup played in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday has provided a glimpse of what to expect from 15 time -UEFA champions league winners, Real Madrid. The Spanish giants defeated Italian side, Atalanta 2-0 with their new starboy, Kylian Mbampe amongst the goal scorers.
The Super cup is winner of the UEFA champions league against the winner of the Europa league. What a game, what an electrifying crowd that roared the entire 90 minutes of the encounter and what a most befitting way to kickstart the 2024/2025 new football season. Soccer fans worldwide couldn't have asked for a better start.
If you think last season was dope, wait for it, this season will even be doper.
In England, Manchester city which won their fourth consecutive league title last season will be hoping to make it five straight EPL crowns and seven under coach Pep Guardiola in eight years at the Etihad stadium. This will definitely not come easy as both Arsenal and Liverpool are expected to push them all the way just like it happened last season.
It will be a two-horse race in Spain between Real Madrid and Barcelona as has always been the case most times, but I favour Madrid to retain their title again.
Paris Saint Germain may find it a little difficult to clinch the Ligue 1 title in France this season following the departure of Kylian Mbampe which obviously will affect their goals numbers and lacking in the fire power to kill off games when push comes to shove. Monaco will definitely be in the mix this season and would give PSG a run for the money.
In Italy, Inter Milan looks good for another Serie A title after their win last season. However, AC Milan, Atalanta and Juventus will provide the challenge.
No pundit nor bookmaker saw it coming that Bayer Leverkusen will smash Bayern Munich's 11 years dominance of the Bundesliga. It will be fight to finish between Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
Football could be crazy, and they may be some upsets, but these are likely going to happen at the top five leagues across Europe.
