Manchester United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe is making moves in the transfer market and they are hitting the right note with Red Devils fans.
Manchester United are set to splash out over £60million to reunite Erik ten Hag with two of his former players and the fans will be delighted that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has listened to their calls.
The British billionaire has been busy making wholesale changes at Old Trafford, with a specific focus on new signings following his £1.4billion investment in the club.
United have struck an agreement to sign Bayern Munich defensive duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, with De Ligt costing £43m including add-ons and Mazraoui's deal worth around £17m.
The supporters have been crying out for more defensive reinforcements after finishing the season with Casemiro and Jonny Evans their centre-back partnership.
The return of Lisandro Martinez from injury will no doubt prove to be a massive boost, but with £52m new man Leny Yoro breaking his metatarsal, Ten Hag wasn't about to gamble against another defensive crisis unfolding.
And it seems INEOS CEO Ratcliffe has listened to the calls for more signings, with a new poll showing just how much Express Sport readers approve of their latest business in the market.
When asked about who United should sign next in the transfer window, De Ligt was the overwhelming favourite amongst Red Devils fans with 45 per cent of the vote.
The 24-year-old has played at the highest level in three different nations already, performing for Ajax, Juventus and Bayern after making his professional debut at the age of 17.
It appears not everyone is convinced De Ligt will be a success, however, with United legend Paul Scholes expressing doubt over whether he'll be good enough to bring an improvement to United's backline.
De Ligt was limited to just 16 league starts last term after falling out of favour under Thomas Tuchel, who signed Kim Min-jae last summer and preferred him alongside Dayot Upamecano. But De Ligt will have the backing of the majority of United supporters and Ten Hag, who helped nurture his talent when they were both at Ajax.
Next on the list was Manuel Ugarte, the PSG midfielder who has been linked with a £40m transfer to Old Trafford after falling out of favour at Parc des Princes. Ugarte attracted 21 per cent of the vote, putting him ahead of Jarrad Branthwaite on 19 per cent.
It is fair to say Mazraoui was a far less popular signing as far as the fanbase are concerned, with just eight per cent of fans making their desire to sign the Moroccan clear in the poll.
He wasn't the least-popular choice though, with last season's loanee Sofyan Amrabat bottom of the pile on seven per cent.
