The Nigerian lady, Mrs Igiebor, who went viral on Sunday , August 11, 2023, after she was filmed tearing her husband's passport at Lagos airport, has broken her silence.
In a video she shared on TikTok, the lady said her husband has been giving her a lot of trouble in Italy where they are based and this has affected her health. She said she tore his passport so he that he doesn't leave Nigeria.
''I am coming across a lot of comments, people insulting me, even my fellow gender who do not understand. I am not supposed to do what I did. I know that is where so many people got me. Why will I tear his passport? It is against Nigerian law. I know that. To the Nigerian Immigration, I am very sorry. I did it for my husband not to go back because I have seen so many things. I have gone through pain, pain that cause me heartache today, pain that gives me headache at the middle of my head. You do not know what I am going through.''
The Nigeria Immigration Service has begun an investigation into the matter and that if found guilty, she will be made to face the penalty deserving of such crime.
There are however assumptions that the couple carried out the act to promote their pages on social media.
