Despite National Address by Tinubu, Protesters Gathered Expressing Their Dissatisfaction

According to report, Despite President Bola Tinubu's national address on Sunday, a small group of #EndBadGovernance protesters gathered at Gani Fawehinmi Park, expressing their dissatisfaction with the administration's efforts. The protesters chanted solidarity songs, criticizing the President for not addressing their core issues, such as the return of petrol subsidies, restoration of the previous foreign exchange regime, and measures to address food shortages, unemployment, and wasteful spending by officials.

The police and security agencies were present at the park, restricting the protesters to the designated area. However, the demonstrators complied without resistance, showing their commitment to peaceful protest.

In his address, President Tinubu urged the youths to suspend the protests and engage in dialogue, assuring them that his administration remains committed to good governance despite Nigeria's socio-economic challenges. He defended the removal of the petrol subsidy as a painful but necessary step for economic reform.

However, the protesters remain unconvinced, demanding concrete actions to address their concerns. The removal of the petrol subsidy has led to a significant increase in fuel prices and a sharp decline in the naira's value, exacerbating the country's economic woes.

As the protests continue, it remains to be seen whether the government will heed the demands of the protesters and take concrete steps to address the socio-economic challenges facing the nation.
