The Federal Government has commenced the sale of 50kg bags of rice to public servants in Abuja at a subsidized rate of ₦40,000 per bag.
This move is part of efforts to alleviate the current food crisis in the country.
The message was contained in a circular dated August 1, signed by Jaiyesimi Abimbola, Director of Human Resource Management, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Interested public servants are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website, print it, and submit it to the Director of HR for endorsement.
Payment and distribution will be coordinated by designated officials, with the Chairman of the Joint Union Council of the Ministry serving as an observer for transparency.
Each staff member is entitled to purchase one bag, and multiple staff members can jointly pay for a bag to share.
