Renowned Nigerian singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 72.
She was at the birthday celebration of Mrs. Stella Okoli when she collapsed and was subsequently pronounced dead at Reddington Hospital in Lagos.
An eyewitness at the party confirmed the tragic news. The source said, "It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu performed at Mrs. Stella Okoli's birthday celebration today (Tuesday, July 30, 2024), and after her performance, she collapsed."
Tributes have been pouring in for the late iconic singer after the report of her tragic demise. Nigerians will remember her for many reasons including her unique style of singing and the "one love she preached while she was alive alongside her infectious smile.
