Opinion: Why Gyokeres Will be a Better Signing than Osimhen

Arsenal have been linked with a new striker for several months, and their pursuit could intensify as the Premier League season approaches. Recently, the Gunners sent scouts to evaluate Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon. However, they are also keeping an eye on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, whose situation is currently under scrutiny.

Opinion: Why Gyokeres Will be a Better Signing than Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain have been in talks to acquire Osimhen, but negotiations with Napoli, who are demanding over £84 million, have yet to reach a conclusion. Amid these developments, Arsenal has reportedly renewed their interest in Osimhen and requested more information about the striker. Despite this, Corriere dello Sport indicates that the Gunners are currently more focused on pursuing Gyokeres.

In terms of potential impact, Gyokeres might be a more fitting choice for Arsenal. The Swedish forward had an impressive debut season with Sporting Lisbon, scoring 43 goals and providing 15 assists. His statistical output significantly surpasses that of Osimhen, who contributed 21 goals and assists for Napoli last season. Additionally, Gyokeres boasts a solid fitness record, having never missed a competitive match due to injury, while Osimhen has struggled with fitness issues throughout his career.

Arsenal have yet to make a formal offer for either player, but Gyokeres' consistent performance and durability may make him a more attractive option compared to the often-injured Osimhen. As the transfer window progresses, Arsenal's decision will be crucial in bolstering their attacking options for the upcoming season.
