Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag saw both Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund forced to leave the pitch early following injuries against Arsenal
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has admitted he was very disappointed to see Leny Yoro come off injured during the defeat to Arsenal but admitted it was too early to tell how badly he is hurt.
The Reds suffered a double injury blow against the Gunners in the early hours of Sunday morning as firstly Rasmus Hojlund was forced to come off with what was hinted as being a hamstring issue. His injury came moments after he opened the scoring with a fierce strike underneath the goalkeeper.
Gabriel Jesus equalised midway through the first half with a strike which Ten Hag claimed after the final whistle was offside. Before the half could end, Yoro went down needing treatment during a drinks break and was substituted immediately afterwards.
When asked about the duo's fitness after the game, Ten Hag admitted he was disappointed by the centre-back's injury particularly. "It is too short [notice] we have to wait over 24 hours and then we know hopefully more," he told MUTV.
"We were very careful especially with Leny. He did only 50 per cent from the sessions so it was very disappointing that he had to come off but let's be positive and see what is coming out."
Until a full diagnosis is back on both men it is unclear whether or not United will be missing the two youngsters for the opening game of the season next month. Ten Hag is likely to provide an update on Yoro and Hojlund prior to the next pre-season tour clash with Real Betis in the early hours of Thursday, August 1.
