Harry Maguire says he's been told he's part of Manchester United's future and plans on being at the club this transfer window.

Maguire has endured a mixed spell at Manchester United, making more than 200 appearances for the club but attracting criticism for his defending and losing the captaincy this time last year, which has led to reports he could be leaving

The defender will face increased competition at Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag welcomed teenage centre-back Leny Yoro to the club, while Lisandro Martinez is back fit having missed much of the 2022-23 campaign.

CHELSEA lost Thiago Silva this summer after he decided to leave the club - so they are missing that experienced defender at the back and Dwight Yorke recently opened up and encouraged the Blues to make a move for Harry Maguire.

Maguire has said missing United's FA Cup win and England's run to the Euro 2024 final earlier this summer was the 'toughest moment' of his career, but the defender is now fit again and is eager help bring more success back to the Red Devils this term.

When asked if he wants to stay at Manchester United, Maguire said: "Unless the club tell me I'm up for sale or I'm not wanted there anymore.

"Everything I've heard and the action I've been shown from the club, I'm part of the future and it is time to crack on and make this club successful again, challenging for the big trophies.

"That's what this club demands."

Here is what Yorke told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League betting:'Harry Maguire could sit out the last year of his contract and know he's going to play at some point due to injuries, but United really need to be ruthless and get rid of him,' Yorke

'They have Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Leny Yoro, but Harry Maguire is in the position that he doesn't have to go anywhere if he doesn't want to.

'The opportunity had passed to get rid of him because he so desperately wanted to be at Euro 2024 and he would have done anything to play. That was the time to move him so he could get regular football.

'So that opportunity passed and he's still there. I think we need to freshen things up at United and bring new faces in and take the future of the football club forward rather than backwards.

'Having said that, Maguire has shown that he is very capable of playing at the highest level still and elite clubs like CHELSEA, who are trying to rebuild, might take a chance on Maguire.'
