Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President Bola Tinubu on Social Media has been called out by social media who accuse him of hypocrisy.
Dada had warned against protests, writing on X: "Those who want to burn the country down under whatever guise will meet the strongest resistance of their lives. Not from security agencies, but from the silent majority that gave their mandate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for four years in the first instance. We are waiting."
However, old tweets he shared during Goodluck Jonathan's administration are now being reshared on X.
In the tweets, Dada called for protests and said it is the right of everyone. He also stated that the protests do not have to be peaceful.
"Maybe we don't need peaceful protests anymore," he wrote in 2014.
"Everyone has a right to protest. Don't blame them please," he wrote in 2012.
"If you know any policeman, advice him not to take shooting orders from anyone. If anyone is shot during our protest, the killer d!es! No mercy," Dada wrote in 2012.
He continued to speak in support of protest until 2015 after APC came into power.
