Manchester United's squad have been strengthened as Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay return to pre-season training, according to Old Trafford Faithful.

The Red Devils, who faced a 1-0 defeat against Norwegian side Rosenborg in their opening pre-season game, are gearing up for an intense series of matches to prepare for the upcoming season under Erik ten Hag.

The match against Rosenborg saw a number of young players take the field, with a last-minute goal resulting in the loss. Despite the setback, the team are focused on their next fixture against Rangers in Scotland on Saturday.

United recently announced a huge boost with the return of Maguire and McTominay to the training ground. Both players are expected to play pivotal roles in Ten Hag's plan for the season ahead.

Maguire, who missed the European Championship due to injury, has now recovered and is ready to rejoin the squad.

McTominay, who participated in the European Championship with Scotland but didn't progress past the group stages, is also back in action.

Interestingly, both Maguire and McTominay have been subjects of transfer speculation this summer.

While there are expectations that McTominay might leave if a suitable offer comes in, retaining Maguire could be beneficial given the current defensive needs of the team.

Regardless of their future, seeing them back in training is a positive sign for Manchester United as they prepare for a crucial season.
