"President Bola Tinubu has approved N70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers with a promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years," Onanuga stated. During the meeting, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to addressing the financial challenges faced by workers, including the outstanding four months' salaries owed to university unions. The meeting was attended by key figures including the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. Labour leaders present included the President of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajero, and the President of the TUC, Comrade Festus Osifo.
