Businesses you may not know Chris Brown owns

Chris Brown made his career debut in 2005 and has since gone on to release more than 10 albums, several of which have gone multi-platinum. His interest in music started when he became part of the church choir. By age 15, he signed with Jive Records and released his first album in 2005, which went double platinum.

His second album, "Exclusive," became a massive hit, spawning multiple chart-topping singles. His fourth album, F.A.M.E., became his first album to top the "Billboard" 200. What's more, the album also earned him a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album.

Born Christopher Maurice Brown on May 5, 1989, in Tappahannock, Virginia, Brown combined his music career with acting. He made his acting debut in the film "Stomp the Yard" and has also appeared in the films "Takers," "Think Like a Man," and "Battle of the Year," as well as the TV show "Black-ish."

His music career has seen him amass several accolades, including a Grammy Award, 19 BET Awards, 60 ASCAP Awards, and 4 NAACP Image Awards. Also, he has sold over 140 million records worldwide.

Culture Beyond Your Evolution (CBE)

Brown is behind the record label CBE, which is part of Interscope Records. CBE stands for "Culture Beyond Your Evolution" but is also known as Chris Brown Entertainment.

Through CBE, Brown has been able to unearth and nurture talents, including Kevin McCall, Sabrina Antoinette, former RichGirl member Sevyn Streeter and rock group U.G.L.Y.

Black Pyramid Clothing

In 2012, the R&B singer founded the clothing line Black Pyramid Clothing. The influential streetwear brand was influenced by the pulse of hip-hop culture. The brand makes jerseys, jackets, T-shirts, pants, and polos.

Breezy's Cosmic Crunch

In addition to Black Pyramid Clothing, Brown partnered with Miami-based retailer SoFlo Snacks in 2021 to unveil a cereal known as Breezy's Cosmic Crunch, a limited-edition breakfast cereal. The cereal brand grew to become one of the fastest-selling products for the company. It reportedly sold out during its presale.

Burger King franchises

Brown also became a franchise owner, owning 14 Burger King franchises in Virginia. Reports say he has since sold his shares in the franchise.

Symphonic Love Foundation

Brown established the Symphonic Love Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to utilizing the creative arts for constructive transformation. In 2012 when it was founded, Brown gave over $200,000 in grants to organizations including AIDS Project Los Angeles and the Jenesse Center.

"It definitely has been a labor of love. That what it's all about for me-art and love," Brown said in a statement at the time. "Art influences every aspect of my life completely. It helps me to be myself. Focusing on positivity and love helps you have respect for yourself and others. It's what I strive for, so I hope this foundation and the website encourages everyone to express themselves creatively and be who they want to be."
