Strikers seem to be the main focus of the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are all in the market for a new centre-forward this summer.

Manchester United have moved early to get some business done on that front, as they close in on the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

However, the Red Devils seemingly aren't done there, as according to Christian Falk, Erik ten Hag's side are now turning their attentions towards Ivan Toney.

Manchester United want Ivan Toney

According to the Bild journalist, United are now interested in signing Toney from Brentford.

The striker's contract is up next summer, so the Bees have to consider a sale, and the Old Trafford outfit are now in the mix.

Interestingly, Falk also notes that Toney wants to sign for United.

This comes shortly after there were strong links between Arsenal and the 'world class' striker, but United now appear to be leading the race.

Ivan Toney to United would be risky

Toney would be taking a bit of a risk if he were to join United this summer.

As exciting a move as this would be, Toney wouldn't be guaranteed minutes at Old Trafford with the presence of Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in the team.

Factor in some of the issues that still remain behind-the-scenes at United, and this move begins to look less and less appealing.

Meanwhile, if Toney signed for either Arsenal or Tottenham he'd be joining a team who finished higher last season and a team that has a space waiting for him in the starting XI.

Toney seems to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, but perhaps his best bet would be to move to north London and get more guaranteed minutes in a team that is much more stable than United's at the moment.
