Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that it will be hard to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He said this in a.oost on X on Friday.
His post reads in part: "With the autonomy President Tinubu has fought for and given to Local Governments on a platter of gold, and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which he has started, plus the Sokoto-Badagry Coastal Highway, which he plans to begin in August 2024, it will be tough to unseat him on 2027. Hard. Not impossible. But extremely tasking."
On the president's likely opponents, he wrote: "Peter Obi? That one is just wasting his time. Arewa is looking at him and smiling. As if the 'religious war' comment was not enough, he clownish joined the IPOB propaganda train by lying that there is a subsisting court verdict ordering the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and President Tinubu is flouting that court order. He has shown the nation where his loyalties are. Very tactless."
According to him, Southwest have a long memory, saying that "they saw how he went to snap photos with Maryanne Moghalu AFTER she said, 'Invest in Lagos at your own peril."
"Obi may not even win in the Southeast in 2027 with the way Abia State Local Government workers, who had been labouring in vain under Otti, are now dancing and praising Tinubu for saving them from greedy Governors. Anambra Local Government workers, too, will remember their ordeal under Obi.
"Obi is now just a comic relief in present-day Nigerian politics.
"The real threat to Tinubu's reelection is the rapprochement between Waziri Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai and the loss of control by Ganduje in Kano. Other than that, Tinubu has no strong opposition. May God spare all our lives, so we physically see 2027. That is the aspect we cannot control: Who will be alive tomorrow," he concluded.
