Dance-A-thon: Ghanaian man begins 7-day nonstop dancing marathon to break world record

A Ghanaian man, Boakye Fredrick, has embarked on a mission to break the Guinness World Records for the longest dance by an individual.

The current record, set by 16-year-old Indian dancer Srushti Sudhir Jagtap, stands at 127 hours, achieved after dancing nonstop for five consecutive days.

Boakye Fredrick, however, is aiming even higher. He plans to dance for seven days straight, totaling 168 hours of continuous dancing.

His dance-a-thon commenced in the early hours of Thursday, July 11, 2024, and is set to conclude on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Kwahu-Obomeng Social Center located in Ghana's Eastern Region.

The young dancer has garnered significant attention on social media with enthusiasts following his progress closely on social media platforms, TikTok, where clips of his dance routines have been shared.

One such video captured Boakye Fredrick dancing to gospel songs as he launched into his record-breaking attempt.

At the time of reporting, Boakye Fredrick had already surpassed the six-hour mark of nonstop dancing since initiating his challenge at midnight on Thursday.
