Early on Wednesday morning, bandits broke into the Akwando village in Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and kidnapped an unidentified number of persons.
During the hours-long raid, the robbers also set fire to two stores and a house. Three individuals who were severely injured during the incident were reportedly undergoing treatment, a source informed Daily Post.
In his explanation, "The bandits came in their large numbers and attacked the community some minutes after midnight. The attack was carried out from the market downward to other houses in the community."
"Many people were kidnapped by the terrorists; about three others were injured and are receiving treatment in a hospital. They also burned one house and two shops during their attack."
He claimed that the terrorists were active for many hours and that he had no idea how many people had been kidnapped in the neighborhood.
Calls to Mansir Hasan, the spokesperson for the police command, went unanswered, making all attempts to contact him futile.
