'My parents made me believe in love but I grew up to see different world' - Young Jonn

Afrobeats singer, Young John, has opened up about his upbringing and coming to terms with a different reality in the outside world.

In a recent chat with Saige Jones, John revealed that he grew up in a Christian background, with both his parents being pastors.

The producer-turned-singer further revealed that he began his music career in church as a drummer.

Young John stated that growing up, he believed so much in love because of what he used to see between his parents, but he was later exposed to a different reality in the outside world.

He also spoke about losing his mum to cancer and how he is dealing with the pain.

"I grew up in a religious home. Both my mum and dad were pastors. My mum had a school. She was a psychologist. So I grew up in a religious background. I started my music career as a church drummer and keyboardist," he said.

"When I was really young, I believed in love so much because of what I used to see between my parents, before I grew up and saw the world is a lot different than that.

"My family was a very closed one until everybody got busy with life. And life happened. My mum is late now. We lost her to cancer. It happened a while ago. I'm over it now."
