Transfer News: Manchester United Reach Agreement in Principle for Lille's Leny Yoro

The deal, valued at €50 million (£42.26 million), marks a significant move by United amidst ongoing negotiations and setbacks in their pursuit of Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite.

United's pursuit of Yoro comes after their second bid for Branthwaite was recently rejected by Everton, highlighting their determination to reinforce their defensive ranks this transfer window.

However, complicating matters is Yoro's apparent preference for a move to Real Madrid. Despite his desire to join the Spanish giants, Real Madrid's offers have so far failed to meet Lille's valuation for the young defender. This situation leaves Lille in a precarious position, given that Yoro has only one year remaining on his current contract.

With the transfer window approaching its peak, Lille faces the dilemma of negotiating a satisfactory deal with Real Madrid or risk losing Yoro on a free transfer next summer if he remains unsold. Yoro will be eligible to engage in talks with clubs outside of France starting from January, adding urgency to Lille's decision-making process.
