Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has clarified that the issue of releasing Nnamdi Kanu was not discussed during his meeting with the South East governors in Enugu State.
Speculations had arisen following the meeting regarding Kanu's potential release, but Obasanjo's Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that Kanu's release was not on the agenda.
He noted that the meeting, which took place alongside Chief Emeka Anyaoku and His Royal Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, focused primarily on regional development issues, including security, infrastructure, economic collaboration, and regional development initiatives aimed at supporting the national economic agenda.
