Real Madrid Receive Mbappe's Bad News

Real Madrid have been handed bad news regarding Kylian Mbappe by the French national team head coach, Didier Deschamps.

Mbappe finally joined Los Blancos on a free transfer after years of rumors and fruitless attempts to sign him from Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain. He was welcomed to the team on the club's official website at the beginning of June.

The 25-year-old is currently playing for France at the ongoing European Championship in Germany. Les Bleus defeated Belgium 1-0 in the round of 16 on Monday to advance to the quarterfinals of the competition.

After suffering an injury in France's opening game against Austria, the Ballon d'Or contender has been forced to wear a mask. The ex-PSG man will line-up against Cristiano Ronaldo, his childhood hero and Madrid icon as France will clash with Portugal in the quarterfinals.

According to Forbes, Deschamps delivered a dire warning to Madrid, stating that Mbappe might have to use the mask for a while.

"He will have to get used to the mask," the manager said following the Belgium win afforded by an own goal. "He will have to wear it for a few weeks and he runs the risk of having to wear the mask for several months".

If that comes to light, what is worrying here is the effect that Mbappe confessed the mask had on his ability to perform.

"Actually, it's awful, horrible playing with a mask. I keep changing masks because every time there's something that bothers me, there's something that's not quite right," he said at a press conference.

"It's quite difficult to play with a mask because it limits your field of vision, your sweat clogs up."
