Napoli striker Victor Osimhen reportedly has no interest in returning to play in France, despite PSG's keen interest in acquiring his services.
Osimhen was one of the most sought-after center-forwards in European football last season. His 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances were pivotal in leading Napoli to a league title.
However, Napoli has struggled to replicate last season's success, relinquishing their Serie A crown with little resistance. Despite this, the Nigerian striker has continued to impress, scoring 17 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season, keeping him in the spotlight for a potential transfer this summer.
In January, Napoli's owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, confirmed that Osimhen would be leaving the club, even though he has two years remaining on his contract. "We knew that since last summer," De Laurentiis stated when asked about Osimhen's departure at the end of the season.
That's why the contract negotiations were so drawn out and amicable, but we knew perfectly well that he would go to Real Madrid, to PSG, or to an English team." Interest from the Premier League is strong, with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly keen on signing the prolific striker, and Manchester United also having shown interest in the past. However, PSG might be out of the race for Osimhen's signature.
The striker has expressed that the prospect of playing in France again does not excite him, having already played there with Lille. This sentiment could potentially rule out a move to the Parisian giants, narrowing down his next possible destinations to other top European clubs.
