Euro 2024: Scholes sends clear message to Southgate after England draw

England legend, Paul Scholes has sent a clear message to manager, Gareth Southgate after the Three Lions drew Denmark in their second Group C match at Euro 2024.

Captain Harry Kane put England ahead in the 18th minute at the Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday before Morten Hjulmand equalised for Denmark in the 34th minute.

Both sides failed to find another goal afterwards and the game ended in a stalemate.

England, who currently lead Group C with four points, thus failed to grab an automatic qualification spot.

Unimpressed with his country's performance, Scholes took to his Instagram Stories at halftime to share a photo of rising Manchester United midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo secured a paltry four-minute game time in England's 1-0 opening victory against Serbia on Sunday, and Scholes appeared to suggest that the 19-year-old deserved to be used against Denmark.

Southgate has been criticised for his choice of Liverpool's full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to partner Arsenal star Declan Rice in midfield, a decision that often left the Three Lions exposed.
