The Match Ban on Reece James

The Match Ban on Reece James

Currently Reece James is still serving his red card against the football match with Brighton late last season and will miss the opening match again Manchester City.

With Blues getting ready to welcome the reigning champions to Stamford Bridge on August 18, the match ban on James will be a huge blow on newly appointed head coach, Enzo Maresca.

However, the 24-year-old defender will miss the tie due to suspension. He was given a four-match ban after picking up a red card during the late last match again Brighton.

He received his marching orders for kicking out at Joao Pedro in an off-the-ball incident few minutes before full time.

James missed Chelsea's clash against Bournemouth on the final day of last season, meaning he won't be available for the first three Premier League games of this term. The England international will miss the games against Manchester City, Wolves away, Crystal at home.
