Rivers Crisis: 26 Lawmakers, Amaewhule Are Gone. It's The End Of the Road - Ikenga Ugochinyere

In a video published by AIT, legislator Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere has spoken about Amaewhule, the expelled speaker, and twenty-six other lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC.

According to Ugochinyere, an affidavit was used by these lawmakers to request an injunction from the Federal High Court. Remarkably, however, Ikenga claimed, the same individuals have again reappeared and are once again making an appearance at the Federal High Court, this time assuming the identity of PDP members.

Ugochinyere questioned the lawmakers' political loyalty and honesty by highlighting the contradictions in their remarks.

He claimed that on December 11, 2023, the 26 lawmakers, including the former speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, stated in an affidavit that they had changed their political affiliation to the APC.

He claimed that the Federal High Court had issued the injunction and that Amaewhule, the ousted speaker, had signed this document attesting to it.

In his words, "The decision of the Appeal Court is very clear, and the matter was adjourned to June 20 or thereabout. So Oko Jumbo is the Speaker."

"The local government chairmen and the illegal laws they want to use to remain in office cannot come into play."

"The house of assembly that did that was an illegal house of assembly with those lawmakers have also been sacked. So they are gone. It's the end of the road."
