A video has surfaced of former President Olusegun Obasanjo wearing a cap branded with President Bola Tinubu's insignia.
He wore the 'Tinubu cap' at an event attended by some African dignitaries.
Obasanjo and Tinubu are well known to belong to different political affiliations despite coming from the same Southwest geopolitical zone.
During the 2023 presidential election, the former president was well disposed towards the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Before the election, Tinubu had visited Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while seeking an endorsement, but the former president opted for Obi.
Tinubu, who was led to the meeting by the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, was accompanied to the meeting by a former interim chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande; former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba; and the then Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among other APC leaders and allies of the candidate.
Reacting, former presidential aide Reno Omokri described the footage as an interesting realignment.
Posting on X, Omokri wrote:
