Fuel Hike: Tinubu Has Declared War on the Masses - NLC
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says the administration of President Bola Tinubu has declared hardship war on Nigerians through the economic policies he introduced including the removal of fuel subsidy.
A communique signed by its president, Comrade Joe Ajaero and General Secretary, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja.
The Congress directed workers and civil society organisations across the country to immediately start mobilisation for mass protest and rallies ahead of the strike beginning Wednesday.
the union stressed that the policies put in place by Tinubu's administration were insensitive to the plight of Nigerians and rather than give hope and succour, they have thrown the people into mass suffering and poverty.
Obaseki Resigns From PDP

Benjamin Obaseki, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oredo Local Government of Edo State, has resigned his membership in the party.
DAILY POST reports that Obaseki tendered his letter of resignation dated June 12, 2024, to the local government chairman of the party.
Until his resignation, he was an ex-official of the Oredo Local Government chapter of the party and a member of Ward 10.

The FCT Command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested daredevil armed robbers in a joint operation with the military following an attack on a new generation bank in the Abaji area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The joint operation was said to be led by the Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh on Thursday, June 13.
The police and military personnel reportedly mobilised to the scene and repelled the attack simultaneously carried out on both Abaji Divisional Police Headquarters and First Bank PLC in Abaji by a group of 15 armed men, armed with dynamites to break into the bank.
Nigeria's Jibromah Set to Break GWR In 144hrs Singing Marathon

Blessing Jibromah, a talented Nigerian singer, has declared her intention to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) of 105 hours in a singing marathon event.
Jibromah is attempting to set a new record of 144 hours of singing.
Jibromah told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview on Thursday in Abuja, that she would target to surpass the current record of 105 hours singing marathon held by an Indian singer, Sunil Waghmare.
