The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said the organised labour did not agree on any specific figure as the new minimum wage.

NLC was reacting to President Bola Tinubu's claims that an agreement had been reached on new national minimum wages.

Speaking Wednesday during his nationwide broadcast to mark Democracy Day, Tinubu said a consensus had been reached on the long-debated new minimum wage between the Federal Government and organised labour.

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has appointed Professor Shaykh-Lukman Jimoh, as the new Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the appointment is coming after Professor Shaykh-Lukman Jimoh served in an acting capacity as the Vice Chancellor for 19 months.

The appointment follows the outcome of the screening exercise of the university's governing council where Shaykh-Lukman placed first among the candidates.

Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nigeria has described as misleading reports that Nigerians and other African students are being coerced into fighting for Russia in exchange for visa extensions.

The Russian Embassy, in a statement released by the Information Unit, this Wednesday insists the reports from the American news agency, Bloomberg was targeted at damaging the Russian-Nigeria educational cooperation by spreading falsehood on numerous scholarship and grant applicants and their partners.

It further clarified that there have been no reports on difficulties by African students in obtaining necessary documentation to continue their stay in the country.

The governor similarly reduced the death sentences of inmates to life imprisonment.
