According to report, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the country's pressing issues of hunger and electricity shortages. In a statement released on Tuesday by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele warned that the failure to resolve these problems could lead to a massive protest that could disrupt all sectors of society.
Ayodele emphasized the severity of the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians and predicted that if conditions do not improve, the country could see significant civil unrest between August and September 2024. He pointed out that the potential protest could surpass the scale of the 2020 EndSARS movement, which saw widespread demonstrations against police brutality.
The cleric's statement urged the Tinubu administration to take immediate and effective action to alleviate inflation and ensure adequate food supplies for the population. Ayodele's remarks reflect growing public discontent and anxiety over the rising cost of living and persistent power outages, which continue to strain the daily lives of Nigerians.
With the warning of widespread participation in these potential protests, Ayodele's message underscores the urgent need for the government to stabilize the economy and address the critical needs of its citizens to maintain social harmony.
He said, ''President Tinubu, don't allow another massive protest to come up, let there be food on the table of Nigerians. Do something about this inflation so that we can avoid inflation.
