'Agba Baller' is officially the 'Instagram queen' of women's sports in Africa.
Asisat Oshoala has already risen to the pinnacle of women's football in Africa.
The reigning African women's footballer of the year has now officially been crowned as the "queen of Instagram" in African sports.
While Mohamed Salah dominates as the 'Instagram king of male athletes in African sports', Oshoala has now taken her crown as queen of the females.
Oshoala surpasses Ons Jabeur to become the most followed African female athlete on Instagram
Pulse Sports reports that Oshoala has now surpassed Tennis women's star, Ons Jabeur to become the no.1 most followed African female athlete on Instagram.
Oshoala gained 100,000 followers between February and June 2024.
Pulse Sports earlier reported that the 29-year-old Super Falcons star tied Jabeur who had been holding down top spot with 1.3 million followers on Meta's platform.
However, 'Agba Baller''s Instagram account has enjoyed a massive growth since then, ultimately stretching her lead against the current world no.9 on the WTA rankings.
Last year, Oshoala, the highest-paid Super Falcons player, saw her following from 887,000 to hit and surpass the 1 million followers mark for the first time ever.
Her latest social media milestone not only solidifies her position as the most followed Nigerian female footballer but also underscores her status as an influential trailblazer for African women in sports.
