The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, urged local council chairmen to publicly recognise the president's achievements in a video that TVC broadcast. The chairmen were invited by Wike to bow before the President during the commissioning of newly constructed roads in the Central Area. This was considered as a gesture of solidarity and gratitude. After receiving backlash for what some perceived as an embarrassing "take a bow" request, Wike now makes this motion.
He begged the people of FCT to back the president's agenda of renewed optimism without wavering. Wike stressed how important it is for the people to consistently express gratitude to the president for involving them in his plan for renewed optimism.
"You know, in my position, if someone doesn't have anything nice to say about you, he'll say, Look at him," he claims. Their suggestion that they should come and take a bow is what's making you angry, not the fact that Mr. President has done a good job of offering hope to those who had none before. Let me summon the chairmen of the local councils; I want to summon the agents of the renewed hope agenda today. Please stand up; you will be required to kneel before the president.
