A detailed analysis of the financial implications for implementing a new national minimum wage has been submitted to President Bola Tinubu. According to report, this submission occurred at a meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja, where Finance Minister Wale Edun and Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, presented their findings to the president.
After the meeting, Edun informed State House correspondents of the submission and reassured that there should be no concerns about the financial impact of the new minimum wage.
This action follows President Tinubu's 48-hour ultimatum given to Edun during an earlier meeting with the government negotiation team addressing the new minimum wage. This team, led by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, included Labour and Employment Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris, and NNPCL's Group Managing Director Mele Kyari.
