Emerging reports indicate that South Africa's national football team and technical crew spent the night in Port Harcourt as they were unable to travel to Uyo for their 2026 FIFA World Cup fixture against Nigeria.
According to report, the contingent arrived Port Harcourt, Rivers State from Johannesburg, South Africa on Wednesday night, June 5.
The players and officials were said to have been unable to travel to Uyo because the airport had closed by the time the team was scheduled to take off.
Hugo Broos' side are now expected to make the trip to Uyo on Thursday morning. The clash with Super Eagles is slated for the ground at 8pm on Friday.
