Floyd Mayweather kids are a rare debate or show despite his untamed appetite for flamboyancy. His online gimmicks at times, send a notion of a man who doesn't have a family but is a father of five.
Beneath the iron heart, you may think Mayweather has, he has a soft spot for his family. He has been through a lot not only as a boxing champion but as a husband and father.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER KIDS
How many kids does Mayweather have? Well, he has five children. Four are biological and one - a son - is adopted. They are:
Zion Shamree Mayweather
Koraun Mayweather
Jirah Mayweather
Iyanna Mayweather
Devion Cromwell
He adopted Cromwell from his ex-girlfriend Melissa Brim whom he got before meeting the 50-0 boxing champion. Together, they had Iyanna, a beautiful lady with a strong physical resemblance to her mother and father.
Mayweather then fell in love with Jose Harris and they had three children together; Koraun, Jirah and Zion. 'Pretty Boy' loved Harris but she tragically died of a drug overdose in 2020. They both had their bumpy moments in their marriage and it got out of hand in 2010.
He was jailed in 2010 over domestic violence, not knowing that he would lose her a decade later to a drug overdose. The pair had been together since 1995 but 15 years later, Harris could not take any more domestic abuse. She reported the incidents - six of them - and the court found the American boxer guilty. He was jailed for two months.
Mayweather in the recent past remarked that Harris' death hit him so hard that he wished he could do something to bring her back.
"I got to take my time when I talk about this. Everything I asked for in life, any and everything I thought about in life, I got. And I'll say this every day, just for her to come back, I'll give it all," he said during an interview with Hollywood Unlocked hosted by Jason Lee.
Harris in a 2014 interview with USA Today said that domestic abuse by Mayweather took a toll on her mental health. Her son Koraun witnessed the violence his father meted out on his mother and testified in court over the same. Still, he remained a modest father after his jail time.
HOW MANY KIDS DOES FLOYD MAYWEATHER HAVE?
Floyd Mayweather kids total to five. Interestingly, a celebrity boxer worth $450 million consciously decided to enroll his kids in a public school. While they are equally great, he had the means to take them to prestigious private schools. The former multiple-weight champion is not afraid to flaunt his expensive possessions and opulent way of living. Watches, supercars, private planes, and mansions-Mayweather certainly knows how to splurge on his hard-earned cash.
Why did he opt for public school though? His general feeling is that private schools feel like boot camps with minimal representation of what life in the real world is like. Thus, public school shapes children the right way because there is an equal playing field which is crucial in the world out there.
"I make sure all my kids went to public school. Not private school. Public school is more like the real world, I feel like private school is more like a boot camp. Everybody gotta dress the same, cuz they wanna keep everybody on a level playing field. But public school is more like the real world. It is more diverse," Essentially Sports quotes him.
As a Black family living in a country indicted in the past of racial discrimination, Floyd Mayweather kids have their father to thank for cushioning them against this. He recalls an incident where he transferred his daughter from a private institution to a public school. She was the only Black child at the prestigious private school and he knew what would happen later.
HOW IS YOUNGBOY RELATED TO FLOYD MAYWEATHER?
Mayweather is not directly linked to rapper NBA YoungBoy. However, his family connection with the rapper stems from the fact that his daughter Iyanna has a baby, Kentrell Jr with the rapper. Therefore; Mayweather is a grandfather.
CONCLUSION
Mayweather is flashy but beyond this, he has a soft spot for his children. His view to send them to public schools is well informed by the realities of life.
